At Summertown, we are committed to the wellbeing of every employee and worker. Where overtime is required, employees are compensated in accordance with UAE Labour Law, and reduced working hours are observed during Ramadan. Transportation to and from site is provided as standard, and worker accommodation is routinely inspected to maintain high standards of comfort and safety. Long-term service is recognised with a return air ticket every two years, and our Dubai head office holds WELL Health and Safety certification, an independently verified standard for occupant wellbeing. Medical insurance covers both physical and mental health, with access to counselling services and annual on-site health checks.

Building a Connected Culture

A strong team is built outside the meeting room as much as inside it. Throughout the year we bring people together through subsidised yoga and sports activities including football, cricket and table tennis, quarterly healthy breakfasts with guest speakers, and an office garden designed for relaxation. We host bi-annual away days, from team-building retreats to boat trips, and site workers enjoy their own annual away day, this year a desert safari. Activities ranging from sound healing to financial planning workshops add further depth to our wellbeing programme. Our remote working policy provides flexibility for both personal and professional needs, and our team regularly takes part in CSR initiatives including desert clean-ups.
