Our People

At Summertown, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our workers and employees through a wide range of benefits and initiatives. Where overtime is required, employees are compensated in accordance with UAE Labour Law, and reduced working hours are observed during Ramadan. To ensure comfort and safety, transportation is provided to and from site, while worker accommodation is routinely inspected to maintain high standards. Long-term service is recognised with a return air ticket every two years, and additional initiatives such as an annual workers’ away day — this year enjoyed on a desert safari — gift bags during Ramadan, and cricket equipment to encourage friendly matches help foster team spirit. Our people’s health and wellbeing also come first, with medical insurance covering both physical and mental health, alongside access to counselling services, annual on-site doctor visits for health checks, and WELL Health & Safety certification at our Dubai head office. Wellbeing at work goes beyond healthcare, which is why we provide subsidised yoga and sports activities — from football and cricket to table tennis — as well as an office garden for relaxation and quarterly healthy breakfasts with guest speakers. To build stronger connections, we host bi-annual away days, such as this year’s team-building retreat and boat trip, and offer activities ranging from sound healing and financial planning workshops to desert safaris. Beyond the office, our employees also take part in CSR initiatives like desert clean-ups, and our remote working policy ensures the flexibility to adapt work environments to both personal and professional needs.
