We are delighted to be the first small business (SME) and 1 of 4 companies to receive the inaugural Dubai Chamber of Commerce Advanced CSR Label. Presented at an award ceremony last week, Marcos Bish received the award from H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of The Dubai Chamber of Commerce. Summertown was one of many companies recognised in the H2 2018 awards ceremony for their effort and commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability in the region.

The new Dubai Chamber Advanced CSR Label considers a company’s approach to CSR and Sustainability across seven impact areas that includes four standard impact areas: Workplace, Marketplace, Community, and Environment; and three additional: Stakeholders’ involvement, Steering and Governing.

Across these seven impact areas Summertown received an average score of 66.5% for the new advanced level; compared to the average for the advanced level companies of 60.2%. Having received the CSR label for the past six years, pursuing the advanced level enables us to use a more in-depth framework to analyse, refine and improve our CSR strategy, policies and practices.
